You can practically feel Ning’s struggle with guilt for her mother’s death and hope for saving her sister’s life. It’s heartbreaking to find one so young as her going through all of this and shouldering it all alone, but then you learn that this sort of responsibility is prominent in Asian culture. After reading this impression, I know without a doubt that this story will be just as lush and stunning as it’s cover! I’m so happy and proud that the cover depicts the beauty of Asian culture, and can’t wait to see how much more the story illustrates it for us!
