Magic through brewing tea? Sounds great!

Synopsis: Ning recently lost her mother after she was poisoned by a cup of tea. Her sister is ill as well, soon to succumb to the same fate. Ning has magic in her, but her father has forced her to intern with him as a doctor instead of learning magic. But, Ning may have a chance to save her sister and compete in a magic competition to gain a favor from the princess.


I will start with what stuck out to me immediately... the magic system in this book happens through brewing tea! What an interesting and unique magic system! I am dying to know more.

What I didn't love... the first look felt very rushed and choppy. We learned a lot in a few chapters and I felt a bit confused.

I think the book has a ton of potential but am curious how the pacing will be.
