Come for the Cover, Stay for the Magic

The cover with its whimsical colors and swirls was what drew me to this book right away, even before I knew what it was about. Regarding the book, I like how the stakes and the magic system were laid out very early on in the story. The preview ends with the MC Ning on the first leg of her journey to the capital, and I can't wait to read more!
