I love that from the jump, this book establishes our protagonist's struggle: she feels like the villain. This is a really interesting premise, and promises to be an interesting internal battle over the course of the book. The author also lays the groundwork for a refreshing and interesting magic system that is subtle, ceremonial, and powerful.
