Kimberly McCreight has become one of my go to thriller authors. Reconstructing Amelia is one of my favorite thrillers, and this one lived up to my expectations.

A Good Marriage alternates POVs between Lizzie who is defending her old law school friend Zach, and Amanda whom Zach is accused or murdering. Secrets and lies abound, and the book slowly uncovers what really happened both in the near and distant past one layer at a time.

While there was one crazy twist (circa pg 300, for those who've read the book) and I didn't know who'd killed her till the end, most of the twists had the groundwork laid and were plausible within the story. Lizzie is a strong character stuck in a tough situation, but I did wish Amanda had found her own strength sooner. Her story is heartbreaking. The ending was also very satisfying.

Recommended for fans of Lisa Jewell, Lucy Foley, and Megan Miranda.
