The most riveting thriller I have read, McCreight has presented an irresistible community full of gossip and dark secrets. I was captivated the entire way through with altering POVs and court documents to enhance the reading experience. The ending is impossible to guess, no matter what new evidence sways your line of thinking! Once you get farther into the book, the pace continues to accelerate in classic McCreight fashion.
My only complaint is the cynical perspective on the general topic of marriage. I respect that there are many marriages out there with unhealthy relations but this fact was communicated with the implication that ALL marriages were corrupt. Despite this note, I adored the insight into such relationships. McCreight developed her characters extremely well!
