Lizzie is a lawyer who receives a phone call one evening from a former law school colleague named Zach requesting she represent him. Zach is imprisoned in Rikers and charged with murdering his wife Amanda after a neighborhood party. Despite Lizzie's initial doubts, she is encouraged to take on the job by her boss so she reluctantly agrees. It is Lizzie's job to unpack exactly what happened at that neighborhood party and figure out if Zach is truly to blame.
I devoured this book in two sittings. I wouldn't say it is extremely fast paced, but I liked how the plot played out and the numerous twists. I would have liked if the book delved more into Lizzie's background and explored that a bit more, but overall this was a very satisfying legal thriller!
