Multi-Layered Mystery
A Good Marriage is about a woman who is hired by an old law school friend to defend him in a charge of murdering his wife. This is the first couple whose marriage is under scrutiny.
That same woman has her own marriage issues that soon intertwine with her case in a surprising and shocking way.
The victim has several friends whose marriages are also not perfect.
This book makes you really think about marriage and whether any marriage is essentially "good".
I really enjoyed it - it kept me guessing the whole time, though I did have vague ideas about what was going on that I was pretty accurate on.
the only thing that confused me was the timeline of the grand jury testimony. I just felt it was happening the same time she was investigating the murder and she had no clue about it. that was weird to me.
