I love Kimberly McCreight's writing: precise, suspenseful, and adept at flipping between multiple perspectives and time periods. This plot, like Reconstructing Amelia, was riveting from the first chapter. The characters were well-developed and their unique voices made it possible for the reader to distinguish between the various narrative perspectives. I guessed a few too many of the twists for my liking (though that may just be because I've read too many thrillers at this point!). Furthermore, there were a few too many perspectives and time periods involved at times, which confused the storyline. Overall, this was a well-designed and enjoyable thriller. I would recommend this with four stars.
