I found the excerpt fast-paced and exciting, and can't wait to read more. The fact that there's a first-person narrator in the Lizzie chapter makes the story particularly compelling, as does the court document that follows. It lends the narrative credibility and the different formats of the chapters keep the readers focused. The author also seems capable of fleshing out characters very quickly and effectively. The cover is great, and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next!
