I don’t really understand the whole trend of retelling stories. At least blatantly telling the world you’re retelling a story. I do appreciate the diverse storytelling by using a culture that isn’t often written about, at least that I’ve seen, but I don’t think this is a retelling I’ll be reading because I never liked the original.
