A retelling of Treasure Island, but set in the South China sea. The opening preview of this novel was written so beautifully and almost lyrical. I find often times YA novels tend to use 'dumbed down' language - but not here! I felt like I was totally immersed into a lyrical, mythical, fairy tale dream. The cover isn't that appealing to me, so I am glad I was able to give the preview a try and be pleasantly surprised!
