That's such a pretty cover--I'd love to have this book for that alone. I also really enjoyed the writing in this sample and thought it had a really atmospheric opening. The only thing I'm on the fence about is the Treasure Island connection. I'm not really a fan of the original, so I wonder if I'd be invested enough in a retelling, but I'd give it a try.
