Right away, I loved the cover art for this book! It is coded as young adult, but it has more of a middle grade/lower YA feel to me. The opening on a ship during a storm was very atmospheric and grasped my interest right away. I can tell the main character was fearless even as a child and that makes for an exciting foreshadowing to her future endeavors. I'm not familiar with the original this re-telling is based off of, but this sounds like a fun adventure story I'd be interested to keep reading!
