I've been going through the old first look previews in order to rack up more points. I download them to the computer, then I read them as I get to them on the nook, taking notes to come back to writing this later. The following were my notes as I read the excerpt:
- Honestly, this has to be the shortest excerpt on this site - less than 14 pages, considering the inclusion of front matter.
- There's just not much to work with here.
- Super cliche'd
- Boy girl breakups
- Single mom breakups
- end of year activities
- Really trite
- Going to meet "daddy" drama
- Oh who cares?
- I was worried at first that this excerpt was a particularly short one, but now I'm glad it wasn't longer. I don't think I could have pushed through much more of this. This was really badly done. I'm honestly not even sure why or how this one made it this far in this state.
As a result of this excerpt, I can honestly say that I know to avoid this author, and that's the best I've got for this one.
