The First Read excerpt is only the first chapter, which is not a lot to go on, but I'm hooked. The writing is clean and well-done, the copy-editing clearly happened. The dialogue rings true, which is hugely important and not always the case. I am so intrigued by the premise. Are these kids looking for a sperm donor? The main character in the first chapter, KT, seems to know who her father is, even though he is estranged. I'm curious to know how we get from KT to the other siblings. KT reads like the combination teenager and adult that circumstances (a less-than-together mom) have forced her to be. She seems like every tough kid I knew in high school. I'm hooked and definitely interested in picking up the whole book.
