This excerpt introduced KT, which from the book descriptions sounds like is only one of three main characters. She seems interesting, and I don't think the book would suffer if the story were only from her perspective. For most of the excerpt, I was left wondering how the story thus far connected to the description of the book, but at the end it becomes clearer.
