I have to admit, the summary of the book was more interesting than the first chapter. However! The concept sounds exciting enough that I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, and I'm still planning on reading the whole thing when it comes out.
I like it when characters are flawed (and maybe even a little bit unlikable at first) because it means they have plenty of opportunity for development! The plot sounds like a fresh take on the ol' "family road trip" story. And the cover is beautiful.
