I won this book from Bookish First, it's my first Bookish First win, so I was very excited!
I love a good Dystopian novel. And this was no different. In this world, humans are all but extinct and clones have taken over...what happens when a human is reintroduced? That's what we find out.
The world created with the clones, or Homo Factus, is an unusual one. They do things differently, see things differently, and don't seem to feel things the same either. When a human is reintroduced to a society of clones, HE is the outcast. How much human DNA is required to make a clone FEEL something, to love, to think outside the box that they've existed in for centuries?
The premise of the story was very good and very interesting to me. And while it left off in a good enough place that it can be called a stand alone without feeling disappointed, I would also welcome a sequel to tell us what happened after the end of the book.
This is one of my favorite genres and I think this breakout author did a wonderful job of creating a new and original story within it. If you enjoy Dystopian and post-apocalyptic fiction, especially with a bit of Sci-Fi, you will probably enjoy this book.
