Althea-310 and Jack were INTERESTING, but they didn't feel relatable or real to me. I never got so absorbed in this book that I forgot I was reading, and I may have checked a few times to see how many pages were left because I was ready to just get to the end already.

While the characters didn't really do it for me, the world building in this book blew me away. The descriptions are so rich I felt like I was really THERE, and the history is so rich and involved. Honestly, I kept reading for the world building more than anything else. Can Adrianne Finlay be in charge of writing all the travel guides to our post-apocalyptic future, please?

The story falls somewhere in the middle for me - it took a while to pick up, but once it did I was sucked in. So 5 stars for the setting/world building, 1-2 for the characters, and 3 for the plot averages to about 3 or 3.5 stars for me on this one. As this was Finlay's debut novel, I'm really interested to see what she comes out with next and how she grows as a writer, because she definitely has amazing potential.
