Fascinating! In this future village, all people are one clones of nine original humans, and there are always ten of each clone in every generation. Thanks to genetic engineering, illness has been eradicated, and all the clones have the ability to "commune" with their brothers or sisters, and, to a lesser extent, the other models of clones. Some of the clones believe, though, that they've lost some indescribable thing that humans had, so they "de-extinct" a human boy (complete with asthma) to explore the differences. It seems, however, that they've failed to understand the effects of one incredibly different human boy on their society. I can't wait to read more about Althea and Jack!
