If I taught a high school or college class, this book would be required reading. We’d have discussions about it where you’d be expected to be a good listener.
You’re Not Listening is a very necessary book for the time we are in. It discusses situations in which listening is done, and what the author has noticed about how it has changed over time. Technology, relationships, and politics are all discussed. I found myself constantly catching myself on my own habits and making mental notes for change.
I’d honestly recommend this book to everyone. You’ll see yourself, your loved ones, your coworkers, and more within the vignettes. I had trouble in the beginning of the book, but once I grasped the author’s writing style, it was smooth sailing from there.
