I thought this book by Kate Murphy was a really interesting read. It's all about improving your listening skills. Kate Murphy is a journalist so she has interviewed many people and learned how to really listen and soak up information.
Everyone wants to be heard and we are often so busy and self-centered that we forget to open our ears to the ones around us. This book has numerous tips and examples for learning how to be a good listener. It even talks about remembering to make sure to have a positive inner voice and when to know the times that it is okay to stop listening to someone who is a bad influence. I think people can learn a lot about themselves and others by following some of the advice from this book.
