Are you a good listener? Both my undergrad (theater and speech communication) and grad school (library science) areas of study had parts that emphasized listening. In my current role, you really can't do a good reference interview if you are only half listening- you'll miss all the context and someone might not walk away with what they truly wanted or needed. That being said, I learned plenty from You're Not Listening that I can apply to both my professional and personal lives to improve how I listen and in return, how well I connect in my relationships. This was detailed and well researched, but was still an engaging, entertaining read. I doubt there is anyone out there who won't find something to benefit from in this book!
