I don't usually gravitate toward self-help type books like this, but the first couple chapters of this were very interesting. It starts off discussing why people are just terrible listeners these days. Modern media and the internet have become the standard for how we think communication is supposed to go, but those are not real conversations. It's either talking heads, practiced interviews, or shouting matches. This book attempts to explore the science behind listening and how we can use it to better ourselves and others.
