A lot of people claim to be good listeners but are they really? This book takes on the question of what it means to be a listener and how many have lost the art of really truly listening. I often claim to be a good listener but the excerpt of this book made me question whether I am *actually* listening. I look forward to picking up this book and seeing the different ways in which Murphy interrogates the idea of listening. I am excited to hear the different perspectives she incorporates. Perhaps because listening involves being more reserved, the premise of the book reminds me of Quiet, a book a really enjoyed.
