The introduction to this book not only grabbed me and made me think, I feel it is something everyone should read and truly take in. The statistics about depression and suicide are scary. Kate Murphy, in the excerpt, opened my eyes to how society and the demands of life almost unintentionally discourages close, attentive listening. This excerpt really made me think, and I want more.
