I have a bit of a soft spot for the title "You Are My Sunshine" and the cover is just so pretty to look at that I was excited to start this book. I had never heard of Sean Dietrich before I read the synopsys of this novel, which I find surprising. However, when I read a brief summary of who he is and what he does, I have to admit I wasn't sure if "You Are My Sunshine" would mesh well with my usual genre. It didn't, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

If I had to equate the vibe of this book to something, it would be an "easy book club read". Generally enjoyable without being a page-turner or bringing up anything too controversial. That isn't to say I didn't enjoy it, there were funny parts and relatable parts but nothing that sticks out as life-changing. If you're looking for a nice book that you can put down and pick back up again without a problem, this is it.
