This was such an endearing read. I clicked instantly with the author's sarcasm and dry humor. I laughed out loud at one part in particular (swiss cake roll moment) but found the snark particularly funny throughout.

The book did slow down a lot in the middle when it seemed to be the same routine over and over... pedaling, eating, finding and inn to sleep in, back to pedaling. But that also gave the read an authentic feel to what I'm sure is a very accurate representation of how this bike journey went.

I think the author could have cut back out the amount of historical facts at the beginning of each new chapter. I started to feel like those parts didn't necessarily add to the story but rather just the word count.

This is definitely not a normal read for me, but I'm glad I won it in a BookishFirst Giveaway. It really made me reflect on my own life especially living in the times of a pandemic. Am I merely existing in this life or living it?
