Though the book starts off with the author's wife being diagnosed with cancer, he manages to keep the tone of the these first few chapters very funny and heartwarming, where it just feels like the beginning of an adventure of a young couple, who are trying something new. This is very unlike any book I've ever read, especially because I'm not an outdoorsy person at all, but it still felt like a charming read.
