Let's start with the cover. Did it immediately catch my eye? Yes. The colors and art are beautiful!!
This is my first read by Isabel Ibanez, so I wasn't sure what to expect or what her writing style would be. I was pleasantly surprised though. Her writing style is unique and easy to follow. I felt like i could FEEL the hunger and pain going on in this book.

This book follows Ximena, whom has spent her life as a royalty "stand-in." She's lived this role so long that most in her life believe she is THE Condesa. She's truly an amazing character.
