I was sucked in from the beginning. I'm ways glad when the inside of a book matches the outside, and this one did for me. Gorgeous cover, gorgeous story. I really loved the glimpses into Bolivian culture. The author kept me guessing from the first chapter. I thought I had something figured out, only to be shown the next chapter I was wrong. Every character seemed so real, i wanted to root for everyone. Except the king of course, because he was truly awful. Even with the king though, we see how terrible he is, but then also get glimpses of him being a normal man with his family, and that felt so real to me. Everyone is the hero of their own story right?
I will definitely be reading the sequel. I can't wait to see where the story goes with the main character and her former best friend. I'm sure she'll be back seeking revenge.
