This book was such an amazing story to read! I loved how dark it was with magic woven in which made me want more. What drew me in was the beautiful cover and the plot captured my attention. I really liked the enemy to friends to lovers trope of Ximena and Rumi's relationship together and I was rooting for them. I also loved the friendship between Ximena and Tamaya rather than Ximena and Catalina. Also, I got real hungry by reading all the descriptions of food and drinks. I also loved the foreign words throughout the book. The only thing I didn't like was how annoying Catalina was. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and will recommend this to anyone who loves a magical story with war and love. I can't wait to read the sequel!
