When looking at the cover for Woven in Moonlight, I instantly wanted to pick up the book and start reading. The cover is intricate and beautiful. The first chapter is one that draws the reader in wanting to know more. You can feel the tension of the Illustrians as they wait for food rations that are quickly dwindling and the feD as they wait for the enemy to attack. I loved the small explanation of the magic system that Isabel Ibanez has created and that people have different types of magical abilities. I also appreciated how quickly the conflict in Woven in Moonlight is introduced and the extremely high stakes. At Ximena’s refusal for the Condesa to marry King Atoc, it will be interesting to see how the conflict will increase. I can’t wait to read more!
