This brief excerpt sets up a compelling relationship dynamic between the protagonist and the last surviving royal she is a secret decoy for. It also establishes a unique magical system that I hope will be developed more. But the most promising thing is that (judging by the summary on the book's main page) our protagonist is going to face a significant challenge to her worldview, and I'm interested to see what author Isabel Ibañez does with that. Could be really good!
