So far this novel is really fast paced and definitely has a fairy tale aesthetic. It begins right in the middle of a crisis, which I appreciate it for its success in keeping the story interesting. However, I feel like things are being introduced way too quickly for me to properly make sense of the history being described in these first pages. There are also terms and concepts that I think are unclear because they are being introduced without a lot of context. I'd like to read more to see if, as the story progresses, these things become easier to understand and the world building becomes more elaborate and developed. I think the cover is gorgeous and am very curious how all the different elements it features tie in to the novel.
