The first chapter spent a lot of time on feeling, smells, food, and I loved getting a feel for this world through sense right at the get go.
The second chapter was such a hook! Learning a bit more about the magic, and Ximena's situation as a stand in for the real queen. I love Ximena's anger and imperfection. I can't wait to see how that plays out, especially after that last bit of the sample. "kill them all!"
