I’ve had my eye on this book ever since I saw the glorious cover. I had no idea what it was about, though I did have a passing familiarity with the author, having seen her name around on twitter during all of the Pitch Wars conversations and discussions that overtake my feed each time it comes around :-)
From the first look, I can tell that this beauty of a book is going to be full of culture and full of themes and issues that are important in today’s climate. I read somewhere that Ibañez based one of her characters off of someone in the Bolivian government that is both powerful and ruthless to the core, and I’m so interested in that aspect. And the magic. Let’s not forget the magic.
Really looking forward to this impressive sounding debut, and I’ll definitely be recommending that my library put it on the order list (if it hasn’t already landed there!)
