Already on my TBR
Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibanez is already on the top of my TBR for next year.
Cover - The cover of this book is gorgeous. I love the hand-drawn elements and the colors that are reminiscent of the endearingly popular children's book Goodnight Moon.
Plot - My first impression of the plot is one of excitement. I love stories that revolve around Latin American mythology and cultural ideas. Since I have many students who come straight from Mexico, these books are very popular in my classroom. It seems like the impostor trope is becoming popular in YA books, but I don't mind it. I think this one will still feel original. I'm a little concerned about the relic that Xiomena needs to find and keep from Atoc to keep everyone safe. Hopefully it's not used as a deus ex machina, something that immediately saves the day. I'm not expecting that, and I hope this lives up to my expectations, because it could be one of the year's best YA books.
