I did not know what to expect going into this book and that was perfect. It was filled with surprises for me and is one book that has made the argument that YA fiction is delightful and worth reading by any age.
Wilder Girls follows the Raxter School for Girls which has been under quarantine for 18 months due to a mysterious disease, the Tox. The Raxter Girls are completely cut off from society other than spoiled food drops from the Navy. As a means of survival and order the girls are paired off and function within their own little family groups. This is how the reader meets Byatt and Hetty. When Byatt goes missing Hetty will do anything to find her and you are taken deeper into the world of the Raxter Girls and what is really behind the Tox.
In a sense this book was a slow start for me, but once I was in, I was in and didn't look back. The characters are captivating and were written with a ton of depth. the storyline was enthralling and kept me interested and reading. I would definitely recommend this to others
