I think I'm in the minority on this one, but I felt like this wasn't as strong of a book as it could have been. The plot was intense, as was the body horror. The ending was decently unsettling. But I felt like the characters were so flat, I wasn't invested in their story. Rather than rooting for each of the key three characters to escape or to figure out what was going on, I was confused over their connections to each other. The brief "blips" of relationships went by too quickly to feel real. And because I wasn't invested in the characters themselves, I ultimately felt that the resolution was unsatisfying. I will say that this is dark, creepy, and full of shock value. But if you're like me and prefer character-driven storylines, this one may not be for you.
