This was interesting and weird, but I just didn’t really click with the characters. The action level was good, and it had some decent twists. I’d recommend it if you like survival stories x dystopian/sci-fi. An illness has spread through a seclude island, containing an all-girls school, killing many and mutating others. The Tox, as they call it, leaving the girls struggling to survive a lack of food, dangerous wildlife, and their own traitorous bodies - but that’s not all that’s putting them in danger and everything is not what it seems to them at first. We follow three main characters - Hetty, Byatt and Reese - who have become even closer through the year and a half they’ve been under quarantine, and when Byatt disappears, Hetty will do anything to get her back, even put the remaining survivors at risk. The end was just disappointing, though.
