This seems like it’s going to be a dystopian type thriller with a center based around strong female characters. The beginning gives just enough to hook the reader into the world that the author is building, but we are unclear if it is future or what the time frame is. There are some mysterious relationships that we see in the beginning between the characters and their interactions with each other. I also found it interesting that they bring in involvement of the government (the Navy) in whatever is going on and whatever it is that they are fighting for. I think that the author does a good job by using disjointed fragments of sentences to scatter the feeling of the story and the create an unreliable setting for the reader. I am interested to see what this is really about and where it is going!
