This story revolves arround three friends, Hetty, Byatt and Reese. Their school, Raxtor School for Girls, has been under quarantine for a year and a half. All of the students suffering from the Tox. It began with the teachers, only the headmistress and one young teacher surviving. Then the students. Altering each girl in a different way. One of Hetty's eyes sealed shut, Reese's hand turned to silver scales and Byatt grew a second spine. Each girl suffering her own horror, but outside the school gates is much worse. The Tox has taken hold of the entire island. Animals have suffered similar fates and have become more dangerous, even the plants pose a threat. A cure was promised if they followed the rules and didn't break quarantine, a cure has yet to be found. Every season the Tox alters in each girl and when it hits Byatt she is taken to the infirmary and from there goes missing. From here the story really kicks off. Such a wild ride and I need to know where it's going! I loved this stoey, but that cliffhanger ending really got me.
