I had high hopes for Wilder Girls for two reasons:
1. Did you see that cover?! So beautiful!
2. Such an intriguing premise. A girls boarding school is under quarantine after a mysterious disease breaks out.
I love a good dystopian YA and finished this in just a couple days. However, I've taken the past two days to sit with it before reviewing...and...I did not love this. The atmosphere had a great feel of heaviness and desperation but I never felt fully connected to the characters. So much potential but never quite got there for me. The ending just really did me in. What the heck!? Possibly open ended for a sequel??? I don't know. It was just like they forgot to add the next chapter.
