I am very disappointed in this book. I had heard such good things, but it did not live up to the hype. I was expecting a gory, disgusting book about girls trying to survive a disease on an isolated island. Instead, I got a very boring book that raised many questions but didn't bother to answer any of them.

There was so much potential! Rather than doing something interesting with the story, like including a government experiment or a mutiny on the island, we got stuck with bland characters with little to no backstory. And what was that ending?? Let's save these girls from a bear just to let them get killed by the government. I don't understand that.

Overall, I just didn't see the point. Why did we have to know about something moving behind Hetty's eyelid if nothing popped out? Why was the worm included and how did the CDC not find them? This book was so frustrating. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I could not make myself care about any of the characters and I found myself scoffing or rolling my eyes more than I usually do.
