Many people added this book on their Most Disappointing Reads but I do not understand. The book starts off with the reader being thrown into the action and from there the action is non-stop. The blows keep coming along with the action. As a reader it's impossible to be bored because of the fast pacing of the book. All of the characters are untrustworthy at times, adding to the intense and atmospherics tones of the book. As a debut novel, I believed Rory Power did an amazing job showing off her writing skill in both description and characterization.
Readers ask questions throughout the book and are left with questions at the end. This is where I believe most people dislike the book. The ending leaves you with 1,000 questions. To me, this is how the book should be. The characters aren’t getting answers to neither are we. We are left to feel just as confused and helpless as them.
