I’m sure that several people saw this book trending on TikTok and decided to read because of the cover. Well I did. But, a pretty cover does not mean that the book is good. I loved the concept of the book, I thought it was unique and was also very intriguing. Sadly, nothing had really occurred in the book. The plot was very weak and the characters hadn’t really developed. The relationship between Byatt and Reese was so fast and didn’t really have a lot of development. The storyline also became very confusing after a point as they were trying to leave the school. The ending was the factor that angered me the most. They tried to bring in the element where we were left to create our own ending but it just left me unsatisfied. When the majority of the book is centered around the health of hetty and the other girls, I expect to have some context of the ending.
Overall, the book had a lot of aspects that could have been amazing if the author had tried hard enough.
