Wilder Girls is an original novel about girls in a secluded school on an island. A mysterious virus called the Tox infiltrates the island and the girls are quarantined on the island waiting for a cure promised by the Navy on the mainland. The Tox creates an array of maladies for all the girls remaining on the island, and sometimes result in death. Odd mutations plague everyone left.
The main three characters are Hetty, Byatt, and Reese. Any ideas about the Three Musketeers should be thrown out immediately, as all three are allies, but still fighting to survive any way they can.
I could not put this book down. I picked it up and finished it in a day in a half, sneaking in sentences and paragraphs on my lunch break at work, before bed, and when I woke up - any time I could.
