First, the cover is beautiful and the blurb made the book sound amazing. I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought that the main characters were very interesting and likable. I enjoyed the plot and found the writing very engaging. The author did a good job in making me care for the girls and what was happening to them.I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting, it had grabbed me from page one and didn’t let go.
I did however find that the ending was a slight let down, considering that the book is a stand alone and there is no actual backstory as to what The Tox is or where it truly came from. The end felt abrupt and had me sitting afterwards asking “That’s it?!?”. The book could have used an epilogue to let us know what happened to the girls and a prologue giving some information about what was happening leading up to the beginning of the book.
